After years of abstinence from motorcycle racing, in July 2010 it was time again. Time for my YAMAHA R1 (RN22). I came back only by coincidence. Or rather, by being invited to take part in the legendary street race in Halle/Saale, called Fischerei Hafen Race. The Motorcycle Garage, or rather Pirelli Garage, a young club of motorcycle enthusiasts, had asked me to join the group and take part in this race. A sponsor has been found. I couldn't say no to that. Just like when you have the opportunity to fight side by side with well-known racing riders such as Rico Penzkofer (Penz13) and Didier Grams. Even if the difference in performance compared to these top street racern is of course present and large, no problem, because being there is important. And only this counts. Rico and Diedier are known from street races in Macao (near Hong Kong) and the TT (Isle of Man).
I would like to take this opportunity once again to express my heartfelt thanks for the absolutely first-class support from the Pirelli Garage - Halle. It was an extremely delightful and fun time to spend with you guys. Thanks!
